I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Educational Horizons Charter School. We are a hybrid Montessori school that combines the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards with Montessori methodologies to help students reach their full potential.
Montessori education stimulates a child’s curiosity, builds self-confidence, fosters independence, and develops a sense of responsibility. It also encourages meaningful friendships while promoting kindness, respect, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our school has a proud history of developing self-motivated learners who go on to achieve great success. One of our alumni is currently a resident physician affiliated with Johns Hopkins, a testament to the strong educational foundation established during their years at Educational Horizons.

Welcome from our Operator
Dear Educational Horizons Family,
I would like to welcome the students, families and community to Educational Horizons. I feel that it’s the school’s and my personal mission to make sure all students feel a sense of family and pride while attending Educational Horizons.
Like our founder Mrs. Cynthia Thomas, I believe incorporating the Montessori model into the educational standards that every child will learn only enhances the individual child’s depth of knowledge. It is my hope that every student will take their experience from Educational Horizons and implement it into their lives to become lifelong learners.
I believe that each students that attends Educational Horizons will find a nurturing environment that provides opportunities for each child to increase their personal self-esteem. We do this by having all staff commit to both academic performance and social and emotional well being.
I come to Educational Horizons from a wealth of educational experiences. I have served as a successful social studies teacher with some of the highest scores on our state assessments in Ohio. I have also served as a coach of two Senate League Championships. In addition, I have spent over 18 years as either an assistant principal, principal or superintendent.
The last ten years, I have been founding, operating and managing charter schools all over the U.S. I am the founder and lead developer of Monroe Preparatory Academy the only charter school in the city of Sandusky, Ohio. I am currently licensed as a teacher, principal and superintendent.
