Chess Club

The EHCS Chess Club grades 3-6 (Starting October 1, 2026 grades 3-6) provides students with an exciting opportunity to develop critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills in a fun and supportive environment. Students of all skill levels are welcome, whether they are learning the game for the first time or have experience competing.

Through friendly games, lessons, and challenges, students build concentration, patience, sportsmanship, and confidence while learning to think several moves ahead. Chess Club also encourages teamwork, respectful competition, and perseverance as students improve their skills throughout the school year.

The club meets regularly after school and offers students the chance to practice, participate in friendly tournaments, and represent EHCS in local chess competitions when opportunities are available. Chess Club is a great way for students to make new friends while engaging in an activity that strengthens both academic and social skills.
