“Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment.” ~ Dr. Maria Montessori “What I hear, I forget. What I see, I remember. What I do, I understand.” Confucius

Science and Art Show Success
Our students had a very success experience at the Science and Art show this week. Six of our grade 3-6 students won first place ribbons at the school level and then moved on to the district competition. Three of these students received ribbons for their science projects. At the same event, our first ever recycled art project was entered into the art competition. We are pleased that the 15 students in grads 1-6 who worked on this project also received an award for their efforts. Thank you to the parents, teachers, volunteers and staff who supported these young people to do their best!
The Brevard Symphony Orchestra Children’s Concert
Grade 5 students were guests to see and hear the Brevard Symphony Orchestra Children’s Concert perform at the King Center. This year the focus was Symphonic Stories. They listened to colorful and descriptive music written by some of history’s greatest composers. Some pieces were inspired from literature, folk tales, poetry and personal experiences.
A welcomed return!
Students in grades 5 and 6 welcomed back Mr. Jim Kennedy, retired director of Kennedy Space Center. He graciously shared stories and lessons learned in space that relate to leadership and STEM. He also visited the science fair projects and congratulated our 1st and 2nd place winners in that class for their hard work and commitment to science. We look forward to taking 6 students to the district science fair on March 13th from grades 4, 5, and 6. Congratulations to Colin, Noah, Lucas, Luke, Anthony and Ethan and best of luck next month.
