In November, our PTO hosted its annual Coin Drive to support future school projects. Each classroom collected spare change, with the top-earning class winning a $25 Amazon gift card and the chance to pie Mr. Galloway in the face! Thanks to our generous families, we raised an impressive $1,223, with Room 8 contributing $314.89.
Congratulations to Ms. Murphy and Mrs. Saldanha’s class for their victory—and for pieing our brave principal! Thank you to everyone who participated!
In November, we hosted two events showcasing the Montessori method in action.
On November 12th, parents were invited to observe students demonstrating their activities throughout the school before the monthly PTO meeting.
On November 21st, our Kindergarten class held a Parent Participation Night. Each child welcomed one parent into the classroom to experience a Montessori lesson. Students guided their parents through 2–3 activities from their work plan, simulating their daily routine from arrival to departure. This event allowed parents to see their child as a leader and gain insight into the Montessori approach.
We deeply appreciate the efforts of our families, students, teachers, and staff in making these events a success!

In our transition, we lost access to our old Facebook page and other social media channels. We’re trying to reclaim them, but it takes time. We’re hopeful, but it is a lengthy process. That gave us the opportunity to think about what we want from each of these social media platforms.
Educational Horizons Charter School, or EHCS, has always been the home of the Manatees, but now, we’ve got a new logo, with our favorite mascot. Should we name our manatee?
