  • Volunteer of the Year

Congratulations to our NEW Volunteer of the Year!  Mrs. Shannon Sweet was recognized for her contributions to our school at our annual Appreciation and Talent show this week.  Families were treated to a taco bar and homemade cupcakes.  The students entertained the crowd with their many talents.

  • Family Math Night

Thank you Lucky’s market in West Melbourne for hosting our “Family Math Night”. We learned about produce, apothecary, commerce, fresh food and meat and a lot more. The staff was so courteous and helpful. Students took a tour of the store, participated in a scavenger hunt, entered a coloring contest, enjoyed pizza for dinner and left with a bag of goodies.

  • The capacity to concentrate

“As soon as children find something that interests them they lose their instability and learn to concentrate. The more the capacity to concentrate is developed, the more often the profound tranquility in work is achieved, then the clearer will be the manifestation of discipline within the child.” ~ Dr. Maria Montessori

  • Education is a natural process

“Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment.” ~ Dr. Maria Montessori “What I hear, I forget. What I see, I remember. What I do, I understand.” Confucius

  • Science and Art Show Success

Our students had a very success experience at the Science and Art show this week. Six of our grade 3-6 students won first place ribbons at the school level and then moved on to the district competition. Three of these students received ribbons for their science projects. At the same event, our first ever recycled art project was entered into the art competition. We are pleased that the 15 students in grads 1-6 who worked on this project also received an award for their efforts. Thank you to the parents, teachers, volunteers and staff who supported these young people to do their best!
